I've run out of ideas, I looked on every forum and tried almost everything. This is my last hope.

I have a site that I needed to upgrade due to vulnerabilities to the version.

So I went from 5.04.1 to 5.06.08, it worked except that the html modules (all of them) give an error every time I hit save.
Refresh the page and it saves, so no idea why it does that.

The massive failure came when I tried to upgrade it the latest dnn, 6.02.07. The install was successful however, the site failed, only giving a generic stack trace error panel. I tried even restoring the backups and going from each version of dnn on up 06.00.00, then 06.01.05, even 7 just for kicks.

I have not been able to get a stable working version of dnn since. Please any advice would be grateful.

please take a look at the suggested upgrade path at http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/W... - it's probable your issue is .net version related as we changed the requirement for the .net version/sql version to be .net 3.5sp1 and sql 2005 (which this was changed in 5.2.0, its only later releases that start to rely on the update pre-requisities)

So i figured it out. It was an outdated dll file for NavXP. After upgrading the site to 6.0.01 I removed the NavXP manually. Then I Injected the newer version of NavXP. sure it was the hard method butin the end I have a working DNN site. Now I will upgrade it to the latest stable DNN 6 using the resource link provided by cathal, many thanks!
