Hello Everyone,

Does anybody know how to install DNN 7.2 using sourcecode package? First I have already tried this link: http://www.dnnsoftware.com/wiki/page/.... Its method works well for DNN 6 but not for DNN 7.2.

Hope to get help from you.
Thanks very much in advance.
Best regards,
Jie

that method should still worm fine, albeit with a few tweaks (e.g. the application pool needs to use integrated pipeline), it hasn't changed in many years i.e. download the source package, create a website and point it to the website folder, edit the sln file to amend the site to point to that url (e.g. by default it is localhost/dnn_platform, so if you wanted localhost/jie you'd edit that. Open the sln file in vs.net (2012 or later, and with admin credentials), select "release" configuration and do a build (I prefer "rebuild" as it forces a full rebuild and doesn't use unchanged assemblies). Now you just hit your site (i.e. localhost/jie) and you have the site up and running. If you want to debug through the code, open web.config and set debug to true (also some people change to "debug" configuration and do a rebuild also.). Please note, there are only a few occasions when working with a source version has value (e.g. debugging core code, contributing fixes/enhancements), most of the time it's easier to use an install package.

easiest option, if you just need source code for reference. download, unblock and unzip source code and afterwards unblock and unzip downloaded install package into website subfolder, which you are pointing IIS website to as well.
