I'm having a lot of trouble connecting  DNN to my local DB instance... Below is a screenshot of the installation wizard:

I'm running MS SQL 2008 R2 server on my local machine. The server is called localhostob, the database for the DNN is FJourneysDNN. My IIS is version 7 and all the security options have been quadruple checked. I have followed every guide, video tutorial and wiki post provided and I still can't figure out what is wrong. The files are from the Install package.

I'm at wits end with this but I need to make it work, and very soon.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Oliver

What about (local) for server name? It looks like your server name is incorrect. If SQL and IIS are on the same server, then (local) should work.

I've tried all possible variables in that area, same error every time. I tried Local, my IP address and my PC name (which Chris H's videos said should all work) and every time I get the same error.

Thanks,

Oliver

Do those EXACT same values work to connect to it from Management Studio? Is so then it's near certain to be security.

Does SQL Server have a login for your APP Pool and does the database allow that login access?

Oh and is the database on the same machine? Firewall may block you otherwise.
