Unfortunately, I decided today to uninstall FCKEditor from all of my portals, and go back to the basci editor coming with DNN.

FCK is the best editor when it comes to features and coding.

But with dnn it's not working good... It has too many bugs with the security issues.

Users that have permmisions to folder do not see them, administrator cannot see all the folders... This way U cannot load images, and other files from within the editor.

I hope this will be fixed soon..

When it is I will be the 1st to change again to FCK coz the original editor, is too lame... :)

Yeah, the permission bug is driving me around. When using it, admins have a feeling like they can not control their sites.

I intend to switch to another editor. May be DSFCKEditor (former of recent FCK editor) is a good choice. It still has some bugs but at least doesn't prevent users from uploading to the portals...

Still waiting for the new FCK release.

Well, without this function - There is no reason for me to install FCK.

The upload option for my admins is vital.

U C, I have a hosting company which sells space for DNN sites on my server. I give them the "admin" role, to be able to run their site. The only option for me, is to let them be "host" - impossible solution...

Can't understand why they don't fix this bug asap..

For everyone having this error, I need to know if the problem described by Scott is not the problem (A problem created by DNN 3.3.0-2 and 4.3.0-2)

The Scott's blog: http://dotnetnuke.com/Community/Blogs/tabid/825/EntryID/484/Default.aspx

Can you please review if it could be your case? I think a simple review of your database could be enough by following the Scott's post

I don't understand what is the connection between Scott's blog and this problem.

The problem we are facing (Many of us do!) is that FCK doesn't give permmision to upload files for the admin. When trying to open the images gallery, it looks empty, and when trying to load something it says that you don't have permmisions for that. And that's of course when you DO have it on the folder.

I am using DNN 3.3.3

Just try it yourslef, log in as an admin and try to load a pic into your editor. It won't happen.

Regards

Eden
