Just to set the record straight Godaddy does backup your site content and database every night, there is a 30 day rotation of backups for each and every shared hosting account.  The only time that this does not happen is when something goes wrong which of course in the Internet world can happen.  The only real draw back is that it costs you to get a restore done to your database or site (both for the same price).  They are slowly making their database interface better and more robust but unfortunately are still slow to really open it up due to potential security risks.  The backup modules only work when the database is on the same server in most cases but I have heard that the one backup module can do backups of remote databases thus should work without issues on the Godaddy sites.

I had a very poor experience with Evotiva BackupScript. I am a very experienced DNN developer but never could get BackupScript to work. I did notice that the developers deletes all reviews of his software from his website that are not 5 stars. I caught one review that was very poor but within an hour it had been deleted.  The developer basically called me a lier whenever I reported a problem. I finally had to ask for a refund from SnowCovered because there was no way to follow the poorly written documentation.

Since Evotiva's BackupScript proved to be such a disappointment (still waiting for a refund), I am back to looking for another way to move a portal from one GoDaddy account to another. GoDaddy does allow you to backup your DNN database and install it to another account, but if I download the backup to my local machine and then modify it, back it up again, and try to restore it back to another account, GoDaddy will not let me that.  This means that I have to restore the entire DNN database from one account to another. I don't want to lose the other portals that I already have on my second DNN installation. Has anyone found a solution to this problem?

its easier to break something apart than to put it back together.

Short of using the portal export / import feature i really don't see any other viable options to you...
