Is it humanly possible to upgrade from DNN3.2.2 to DNN4.3.7?  I have read the DNN documentation, researched online and found tutorials, videos, etc and NOTHING works.  I have made posts on forums and tried the few suggestions people have made.  Again, I have been unsuccessful everytime I try.  I follow the instructions step by step and have scrapped everything and restarted I don't know how many times.  Is is just a good think I have everything backed up so I can just restore.  Has anyone SUCCESSFULLY upgrade from DNN3.x to DNN4.x?  If so how and could you provide a step by step, as if I was a complete idiot and didn't know anything about DNN, on how to complete the upgrade.  Every tutorial I find has something the others don't or lacks somethings the others had.  HOW IS THIS UPGRADE DONE?  IF IT IS POSSIBLE!

Hello. I am busy with an upgrade from dnn3.2.2. to 4.4.0.
A week ago i tried a (succesfull) test upgrade . I used the following tutorial for that upgrade: http://www.datasprings.com/default.aspx?tabid=73

I have to say that i still have some trouble to upgrade the site on the production server.
I expect to upgrade next week.

I had a lot of trouble when I tried to upgrade from source to source; I stayed on 3.2 until this past December.  I finally gave up on the source and just unzipped the 4.3.7 install files over my 3.2 installation.  After that I just followed the instructions to change the web.config and set my website to run on .NET 2.0.  Everything worked with the exception of a few custom modules that needed at little tweaking.  I was so shocked, because of my previous failures, I tested twice more to be certain before I tried it on the live server.  If I can find my installation notes, I will post them.

I too found the tutorial at the link you provided and I tried it.  Did you do any extra steps not listed in the tutorial?  It seems to me that copying data from the production portals folder (DNN3.2.2) to the DNN4 portals folder would only overwrite the new portal with the old portal and that doesn't seem like an upgrade to me.  When I tried this upgrade and went step by step, I was "successful" but my site didn't seem to upgrade.  Everything was still 3.2.2 look and feel.

What steps did you take to change your web.config?  Again, this is a topic on which I have found multiple sources that do not agree on what to do.  Some say to change the "AutoUpgrade" in the appsettings to "false" and some don't mention that at all.  Did you point the installation to the database you used for 3.2 version after unzipped the 4.3.7 files over the old.
