Quick Question:

Is there any speed difference between “Install” and “Source” Versions? Do I need to compile the Source Version after install? Why would I want to use the Install Version if the Source Version is available? Space is not an issue these days, so what’s the "advantage" and "disadvantage" when using these 2 versions (Source and Install Versions)

I will be hosting sites for friends and family and don't plan on making any code changes. But is it wrong to still use Source Version in this situation? Should the Source Version only be used on a Development machine not intended to be unzipped and used for the “production install of DNN”? Is the "Install version" the Version of choice when installing on production machine that will be used for a mutli portal site for customers? Or should I use the Source Version that way I can make a tweak if needed and recompile on the Production server? Is this safe? Or should I only use the Source Version on a Development machine?

Thanks in advance – and - Sorry In advance.
