I recently set up a new installation of DNN 3.2 and have added a few custom modules by SMucculloch (a core team member). I repeatedly get logged out while navigating around the site while logged in as host. I have not attempted to test this with other user accounts yet. It never seems to be a consistent action and is generally not related to site updates like this other post about DNN4 (http://forums.asp.net/1115029/ShowPost.aspx). It seems to me that both of these versions may have some serious issues with authentication.

Has anyone else seen this problem? Does anyone have a workaround?

I'm having the same problem...were you able to fix it?  I'm using activeforums 3.5 and I notice I can duplicate the problem. If I click on the group topics and then click on back to the forum root (do this 6 to seven times) then it will log me out.  It has to be a different group topic though when you choose a group topic.

I've been seeing this since I first installed DNN and it's driving me nuts.  That said I don't think it's a problem with DotNetNuke.  I've got my development system where I never have trouble remaining logged in, as well as two external customer sites and one internal company site.  No problems on any of them.

My personal site on brinkster has a problem.  Doesn't matter where I log in from or who I log in as if I navigate to certain configuration pages I'll get logged out.  But only if I am using IE6.  Firefox doesn't have a problem staying logged in but for some reasons has issues with the freetextbox control .

There has to be some wierd IIS setup that my host is using that is conflicting with IE6 in some way.  I don't have a clue as to how to figure out what it is though.

I have not found a solution to this problem, or seen any solutions posted in the forums. To reiterate, I continue to get logged out and redirected to the login page of my application DNN 3.2.0. This is occurring for any and all users in any and all roles for this portal. I have not been able to find a consistent action that causes the log out. Like Adeian stated this does not occur with FireFox. In addition, I have several other portals running under DNN 3.1.0 (pre ASP.NET 2.0), with the same modules installed, and have no problems with these. Something about the inclusion of the ASP.NET 2.0 featrue set may have casued this as it is only seen in these versions. This is a serious issue for this software, potentially making it useless in a production environment. Does anyone from the core team have any thoughts on this?

Thanks,
Ken

We are using 3.2.1 and it is un-altered - no modules added and have the same issue - simple navigation can result in the user being - "un-authenticated". (host and admin's too..) Any insight would be appreciated!

Thanks, MikeS
