hi chris!

I already installed the SP1 but I still get the same error. The Starter Kit won't install. Do you think I should change the VS version Im using? Right now Im using VS 2005 Premier Partner edition.

Chris was correct with the reccomendation of downloding Service Pack 1 for Visual Studio, typically this resolves these issues.

I am not aware of ANY problems with the starter kits and any version of Visual Studio (Other than VWD Express) so you should be fine with your current version but I have no idea what is giving you that error.

Mitchel,

I am having the same installation problem ... except I'm using VWD 2005 Express. I do have an installation of Visual Studio 2003 going but don't use it. Earlier I installed DNN Source with no problem so you know everything is generally there. I discovered that DNN Source doesn't work with VWD.

Now I'm installing the DNN Startup package. Installation fails on DotNetNuke Compiled Modules, and I get the error, "Installation stopped because the directory for the Project Type value did not exist. The project type is invalid for your installation of Visual Studio." The text box listing files that were installed is empty.

I'm running Win XP Pro SP2. Your help is desperately needed. Thanks in advance.
