Hi,

in order to get into module development I have downloaded an installed "Visual Web Development Express Edition" and the install package of DNN v4.5.1.

I followed the instructions in Shaun's manual, that is extracting the DNN package, opening the web application within Visual Studio and started it without debugging.

Everything works fine until it actually comes to creating all the database stuff. The install wizard stops at the page after the database configuration with the moving percentage bar and nothing else happens. When looking into the database I see an empty "Version" table and three stored procedures (FindDatabaseVersion, GetDatabaseVersion, UpdateDatabaseVersion), but nothing else. The browser simply keeps on moving the percentage bar

I have already played with the database (attach a blank mdf file (SQL Express 2005), create a blank database), all with the same outcome.

I have to admit that this is the end of my ideas. Anybody around knowing whats going on/wrong ?

Details: XP Pro SP2, SQL Express 2005, Visual Web Dev Express, DNN 4.5.1

Any hints are greatly appreciated.
Tom.

I am running into the same problem.   I thought it might be Vista related but I guess not.

I am using: Windows Vista, VS 2005, and SQL server 2000.  The configuring database page just goes on and on and on..forever.

Thanks,

Larry

I just found in another post that if you do auto install rather than custom it works.  And if you have run it once under custom settings should be stored in the web.config

What was the origin of your issue?  (If you don't mind me asking?)

Thanks!
