hi all,

i have upgraded DNN from 4.4.1 to 4.5.2. (same issue but now it's all working)

After upgrafe Html module was 3.03.0 and i have try to upgrade it to 4.05.00 and now i can,t see html content  in administration mode, nor i get "Modify text" in module menu !
i get this error:

Error: ::: HTML ::: is currently unavailable.
DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: F:\dbDog\DotNetNuke\DesktopModules\HTML\HtmlModule.ascx.vb(203): error BC30002: Type 'HtmlTextController' is not defined. ---> System.Web.HttpCompileException: F:\dbDog\DotNetNuke\DesktopModules\HTML\HtmlModule.ascx.vb(203): error BC30002: Type 'HtmlTextController' is not defined. in System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager.PostProcessFoundBuildResult(BuildResult result, Boolean keyFromVPP, VirtualPath virtualPath) in System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager.GetBuildResultFromCacheInternal(String cacheKey, Boolean keyFromVPP, VirtualPath virtualPath, Int64 hashCode) in System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager.GetVPathBuildResultFromCacheInternal(VirtualPath virtualPath) in System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager.GetVPathBuildResultInternal(VirtualPath virtualPath, Boolean noBuild, Boolean allowCrossApp, Boolean allowBuildInPrecompile) in System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager.GetVPathBuildResultWithNoAssert(HttpContext context, VirtualPath virtualPath, Boolean noBuild, Boolean allowCrossApp, Boolean allowBuildInPrecompile) in System.Web.UI.TemplateControl.LoadControl(VirtualPath virtualPath) in DotNetNuke.UI.Skins.Skin.InjectModule(Control objPane, ModuleInfo objModule, PortalSettings PortalSettings) ---

Module in "User mode" (display only) seem to work ! I see html content !

I can't rollback html module upgrade becase there is version check and i can't install a minor version !

Thanks in advance,

Sandro De Matteis

  • make sure,  files DotNetNuke.Modules.html.dll and DotNetNuke.Modules.html.SQLDataProvider.dll are deleted from the /bin folder.
  • verify that a new folder /app_code/html has been created otherwise check permissions and reinstall module.
  • check your web.config file: in section "codeSubDirectories" an item "add DirectoryName="HTML" should have been created - otherwise reinstall module.
  • restart application
