I can provide no explanation as to how your default.aspx file could have been overwritten.  I was merely pointing out the relationship between the files and content that you indicated.

I have another question for you, however... is there anything in your EventQueue table which has a value of "0" in the IsComplete field?

Cheers

Scott,
Maybe http://demo.dotnetnuke.com does not use the host portal at all. Did you check that portal?
I have a similar issue with an installation that has no child portals at all. ArntK also mentioned that the issue occurred in his host portal. The Default.aspx file that is overwritten is in the root directory.
Thanks.

I downloaded a 14 days free trial of Red Gates SQL Compare and run a check against a clean install of DNN Install package 4.5.3. What I think is wort noting is:

Table EventLog in the clean install has "WITH NOCHECK" in the two last constraints, this is missing in my upgraded install
Table FolderPermission in the clean install has "WITH NOCHECK" in the second last constraint, this is missing in my upgraded install
Table ModulePermission in the clean install has "WITH NOCHECK" in the second last constraint, this is missing in my upgraded install
Table Tabs in the clean install has "PRIMARY KEY CLUSTERED  ([TabID])", the upgraded install has "PRIMARY KEY NONCLUSTERED  ([TabID])"

I will now upgrade my live site, and synchronize it against my clean install of DNN 4.5.3.

I hope someone can shed some more light to this issue.

Thanks
ArntK

ArntK,

Sorry, I am not a developer so I am a bit slow with DNN.

You managed to fix the issue by copying an old default.aspx plus a vb file? As stated in a previous post?

As you saw in my other thread, my site never loads but never times out or displays any errors. I don't get any errors in the server event log either.

I have good backups of my 441 install, but I would rather go forward with the upgrade if you have a work around.

Thanks
