I'm new to DNN and would like to try it out as a basis for a new site.  Can anyone tell me if DNN can be run with SQL Server 2000 Express?  I recently downloaded the MSDE sp3 but it did not install the Enterpise Manager et al.

Any help, for a newbie, would be greatly appreciated

Yes.  It will work fine in 2005.

Enterprise manager isn't a part of the MSDE product it's a tool included with SQL Server full edition. You can use MS Access as a front end to it though.
