Hello

I am having difficulty installing DNN 4.5.5 (Install version) on my localhost.

In my address bar: http://localhost/DNN_455_test/

In Firefox browser as the "next button" does not work in the install wizzard and so I am unable to get past the first page. At the bottom of the page is this message:

} } function reportAction(s) { $('txtFeedback').value += s; } function successFunc(result, ctx) { if (result != 'Done') { if (result.indexOf("ERROR") < 0) reportAction(m_sLocaleSuccess + '\n'); doCallbackAction(result); } else { reportAction(m_sLocaleSuccess + '\n'); reportAction(m_sLocaleComplete + '\n'); var progress = document.getElementById("Progress"); progress.innerHTML = m_sLocaleInstallComplete; stopAnimation(); var nextButton = document.getElementById(nextButtonID); nextButton.disabled = false; nextButton.className = "WizardButton"; } } function errorFunc(result, ctx) { reportAction(m_sLocaleFailure + ' ' + result + '\n'); }

I tried to install with IE7 and found that the next buttons work, however in the bottom taskbar a "error on page" warning sign is displayed. But I can only get as far as, trying to run and install the database scripts. Although it looks like they are attempting to install it just goes on and on forever and nothing is ever installed.

Any suggestions?

Lynn

I've got the same problem installing under IE7. I don't use Firefox.

I'm using the starter kit. I have the "error on page" message in my status bar and have also noticed that image files don't appear on the page.

Hi mikehans

After almost a week of frustration, trying to get DNN installed on my new laptop (which has now lost it's newness looking prematurely old).  I reinstalled my Windows XP (which by the way had all current updates), just in case it had not fully installed first time.  That did the trick, I can now install DNN .

I had the same problem trying to install the starter kit onto my XP development machine. Both Firefox and IE7 reported the same error. In the end I used the automatic install instead of trying to get the wizard working - that went through just fine.

Hi Lynn and agw

I'm not keen to reinstall as my machine is very different from the SOE image here.  Re-building my PC will be no fun.

AGW's suggestion of running the auto-install has worked OK for me too.

Cheers all

Mike
