Okay, so I've been using GoDaddy for almost a year now for my site.  The other day, out of the blue, I start getting error messages "module_name is currently unavailable"

So I call GoDaddy and ask them what the deal is.  They proceed to tell me that they don't support DNN...I respond with, well you offer it, so why don't you support it.  Their response was, it's open source, so we don't support it.

So I login to the Metropolis control panel GD uses and see the DNN section of that.  I'm thinking it will recognize the DNN install that I currently have...nope.  So my only option from what I can tell is to install the latest version to a different directory under my hosting account and rebuild EVERYTHING I have.

Any help on a way out of doing this would be greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately this is pretty common with GoDaddy.  At least you actually talked to someone though.  I've heard plenty of stories abotu people's site being offline for weeks and their tech support doing nothing about it at all.

I hope you enjoy rebuilding your site because if you've been using them for a year and this is the frist time this has happened, then you're lucky.

You should be able to login as the host user and see what is causing the errors via the Event Viewer (Or event log depending on version)

You should be able to repair it fairly easily.

I too am having some issues with Godaddy out of the blue. I was able to view this in the log, (stack trace below)

I am getting an error on the repository module 03.01.10 as well as other custom written modules. Godaddy said to check my permissions on the site, but I'm not sure that's the correct answer.

jballhrb,

You are missing a .dll file that is needed for your application.

I would guess that they had a server issue and restored you to a new server and didn't tell you.
