I'm a rank beginner at this, and have read countless posts here.  But I'm still stuck. I'm hosted at GoDaddy, and used their automatic installer for DNN. However they require a subdirectory to be installed.  In this case it's the: domain.com/dotnetnuke.  Logging into that subfolder works fine.  However it sure seems awkward to have a user log into the website and have to add that subdirectory.  Is there a way to apply the DNN site to the root folder for the site: i.e. http://www.domainname.com, instead of http://www.domainname.com/dotnetnuke?

Many thanks for any direction in this.

Hi,

To install DNN by yourself, you need FTP access and access to change file and folder permissions.

What's your control panel there?

As of ~6 months ago GoDaddy did not allow an installation of DotNetNuke into the root directory, they stated this specifically for DotNetNuke when I called them and requested information about how to do it.

Their only suggestion is to put meta headers in your index.htm file that redirects every user of your webiste, to your DNN installation directory....

Annoying thing about GoDaddy that I have experienced with all of my hosting accounts through them, the DNN site is extremely SLOW when loading into it initially, each time you visit...for every user...
