I have upgraded the DNN installation on this specific host from DNN 3.0.2 to the most recent version of DNN 4.06.00

Now when trying to access the site, I get default.aspx to come up but it has all empty containers, with this error at the bottom of the page.

****
A critical error has occurred.
Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
****

My Site Navigation bar is empty, the only pages I am able to get to are the "Register", "Terms of Use" and "Privacy Statement" pages.  The "Login" page comes up but with 1 error repeated 2x's.

DotNetNuke Error: - Version 04.06.00

Any idea what could be causing this?  I am unable to log into the site, so can't access the log files (unless there's a way to get to the log files directly...???)
