I tried to install DNN 4.7 on my hosted domain, performed the following steps:-

1. Created the SQL Tables, SPs, User Accounts etc on the remote SQL Server

2. Ftp ied the contents to the hosted server

3. Created a Virtual Directory and mapped it (the uploaded contets of DNN)

Now when i tried to access the url it shows me the following error:

  1. you shall only create an empty database and a user with access permission in sql server, everything else will be done by DNN installer.
  2. do not forget to set file system permissions for user "Network Service"
  3. instead of a virtual directory assign a web site with the application folder (i.e. where web.config resides).
  4. Make sure, ASP.Net 2.0 is configured properly and you specified default.aspx as default document.
