OK, I have SQL Server Express, .Net 2.0 Framework, Visual Studio 2005 a web hosting service with DiscountAsp.Net and I just downloaded and installed the DotNetNuke package and I'm reading the instructions for a Clean Installation: I have the virtual directory, the database created and it says something about modifying the web.config file. Is that the web.config file that gets created when I make a web project with Visual Studio?

Here's another question: In the help files it says to set the connectionString key word to connectionString=" ...AttachDBFileName=|DataDirectory|Database.mdf;"...

should I put something in place of the |DataDirectory|Database.mdf? If its the database that was created using SQLServer, do I point it to where the SQL db is or can I copy it to anywhere?

I don't think so.  I'm installing for the first time also and you should have the web.config there.  But, I installed the "DotNetNuke_04.08.00_Install.zip", because I have no plans to modify the source.  Just want the interface side and make changes to the looks if I can to fit my companies theme.

I only changed this and left that one alone.  The installation guide doesn't mention anything about changing it.  I'm guessing it's something internal for DotNetNuke app.

 <appSettings>
  <!-- Connection String for SQL Server 2005 Express - kept for backwards compatability - legacy modules   -->
    <add key="SiteSqlServer" value="Server=(local);Database=DotNetNuke;uid=dotnetnukeUser;pwd=db123@-db;Integrated Security=True;"/>

These are commented out!
