Hi,

I having using DNN for 2 years at work and have finally got around to installing it at home.

Installed it successfully on Vista using Michael's guide (thanks ) and went through the site wizard.

Why does the install version only come with one template (DotNetNuke)?

I thought there were more or have they been removed?

Yes I'm sure they've been removed. The installs have been trimmed down (since 4.0 I think). You'll also notice there are only a few modules installed by default.

default templates had to be removed, since the used modules are no longer installed by default.

you can easily create your own template by setting up an appropriate site and use the option in Host :: Portals.

This does not answer the question.  I want to remove the dotnetnuke info and put my info   in the header.  How do I do it?

Sebastian Leupold's post answered the question referenced in this thread, to perfection.  Specifically, "default templates had to be removed, since the used modules are no longer installed by default" to the question <paraphrase> what happened to the default portal templates? < / paraphrase>.

Regardless, if your question, as quoted, concerns customizing your portal's logo, and you do not want to search the forum or read the DotNetNuke documentation for the answer to your question - you can get a jumpstart on learning about configuring your portal's settings by using the videos at dnncreative.com.

Lee has compiled a large list of videos that covers a broad range of DotNetNuke topics.  These videos include one that shows a portal administartor how to install a new logo in place of the DotNetNuke logo by navigating to Admin -> Site Settings  and then expanding the Appearance section to use the Logo option to change the default logo.  This will allow you to <paraphrase> remove the DotNetNuke info and put your info in the header < / paraphrase>.  The video referenced is Video 3 in the The DNN Quick Start Guide series.

I hope this helps...
