I have a working DNN 4.8 install.  If I try to access it from any other computer it tries to resolve my local computer to a 'localhost.com' domain.  I have 3 entries in the Portal Alias section (1-localhost/dnn, 2-209.195.215.205, 3-www.advancedav-atg.com).  I was told to remove the localhost entry, but I just renamed it to #3 to see what it would do. It resolves to the webroot.  my instance is /DNN.  so I entered /DNN at the end.  Errors with redirect not working for this page.  What the hell do I have to do here???  This should be ultra straightforward!  I'm willing to pay someone to VNC to my server and get it to work...  who's first?

for each PortalID you can have multiple portal aliases, the first one should not be internal.

If you set up DNN in an IIS web site, you do not append a folder name, if you did install DNN in a virtual directory, you do need to append the name,

Thanks Sebastian...

ok - i will move it to a Web site from a virtual - that makes sense.  But the localhost entry was entered by the DNN install and is not editable from the admin interface.  I can edit it to whatever it should be with SQL.  Does the localhost/DNN entry need to exist at all for a public install???

the initial entry is derived from domain name specified during installation, unfortunately the order cannot be changed via UI. I suggest to edit it (carefully) directly in the database. you do not need a localhost entry, if you don't want to access it using this address.
