Hi All,

I am trying to get the 4.08.01 version installed under IIS 6 and am I'm having some time understanding the relationship between portal aliases and host headers:

I created a website named dnn.mysite.com as its own IIS website.

I then created a virtual directory called dnn under this site, and going to dnn.mysite.com/dnn ran me through the installer and I have DotNetNuke installed properly.

I logged in as host and created a portal and gave it a portal alias 'www.somenewsite.com'

I then added a host header on dnn.mysite.com to also include www.somenewsite.com

seems good....however,

if I go to 'www.somenewsite.com' I get 'directory listing denied' not surprising.

when I go to 'www.somenewsite.com/dnn' I get redirected to www.mysite.com/dnn.

what do I need to do to get 'www.somenewsite.com' to not redirect and bring up the DNN portal at this URL? Preferably without the /dnn virtual directory appended.

Thanks!

Jason

make your IIS website point to your DNN installation folder, you do not need a virtual directory.
