Hello,

I am running DNN 3.3.7 with .net 2. After I have recently discovered that there is a problem with the file manager (no new folder creation) with .net2, I switched in IIS the virtual directory to .net 1. This had the effect that the web portal did not show up at all (IIS: Page not found"). Therefore I switched back to .net2. Now I have the problem that with the start of DNN the first access is always redirected to the /install/install.aspx. Only the second try to access the portal is succesful.

1. How I can fix that redirect?

2. How I can achieve my original plan to switch succesfully to .net1?

With kind regards,

Marc

I would try this: Change back to asp.net 1.1

Can you then perform an IIS reset? If this is a server you can get into and not a hosted/shared server, go to start | run and type in cmd to get to a command window, and type in "iisreset" and watch as it reports that it is attempting to stop and restart IIS.

If it is hosted in a shared environment, see if you can toggle the web site off and back on. You can also restart the application by editing and saving the web.config file (just ad a space at the end and save, and that should prompt an application restart.

I don't know if these things will work but I would expect the iisreset to fix this. There can't be anything really wrong, just some crossed wires somewhere which iisreset really should resolve (I think ... I'm quite familiar with IIS but certainly not an expert). Restarting the application should also be sufficient.

Thank you for your response. The problem was that .net 1 was disabled in the web extensions node of IIS. I am sorry for my stupid and dispensable post.
