I'm in charge of making an "intranet" website where my coworkers and I can share information, post announcements, have an online file cabinet (for uploading documents that we all need to review), etc.  I want this all to be password protected.

I am password protecting the folder that contains DNN on the godaddy server.  My understanding is that this will prevent items in the folder from showing up in google searches.  Also, it will keep files/documents that are uploaded from showing up for public viewing.  Will password protecting the folder containing DNN mean that everyone needs to know the folder password PLUS their login info for the DNN site.  Is there a way to let coworkers into the password protected folder with just their DNN login info?

Newbie here, so sorry for this question.

please do not protect any folders using the management tool. All information in your pages will be protected by the login and password, each user has to enter and page / module permission entered in page and module settings. To protect files uploaded, create secure folders using the file manager in admin menu and appropriate option "secure in filesystem" before creating the folder.

Thanks. I assume you mean "do not protect any folders using GoDaddy's management tool" ??

Thanks again!
