Hi, I was trying to install dotnetnuke version 4.9.0 on remote hosting, and I had have diferent problems. But there are one that I can't solve. After installing, when I try to access to default.aspx web page, appears an error and I can't loggin into my site and I get the following direction: http://www.hydsolutions.com.ar/Default.aspx?tabid=36&error=Object+reference+not+set+to+an+instance+of+an+object.&content=0

I musk tell that in my localhost it works very well, it is only on the remote server.

Any ideas about this issue ?

Thanks.

Ruben.

 Ruben,

Are you able to access the event log on the server? Perhaps it will give you more detail about what the particular error is.

Thanks,

Ian

Ian, first of all I have tell you tanks for your post, you give me the solution!. I made an asp page with an sql query to view the content of eventLog table. With that I could see an error when the application tries to access to /admin/skins/language.ascx and said that not exist those file. After that with the control panel I could see that the folder /admin was set to virtual directory. I just deleted this setting and the application ran without problem.

How we used to say in my country, Maestro!!

Thank you so much.

Hey Ruben,

That is a creative way of getting to the event log, I guess you're using shared hosting and may not have access to the DB directly? Anyway, good work and I'm glad you got it straightened out! Best of luck with .NET and DotNetNuke!!

Take care,

Ian
