Hi All,

I need to install Multiple websites, each having there own DNN Instance and using there own SQL DB.
I have IIS installed on W2K3 and SQL2K5 installed on it's own W2K3 Server.

I am able to install the first website fine, but every time I try to install another website, it keeps giving me error SQL Database Installation Failure.

Is there some specific settings I need to do before  I start the 2nd Installation?

I have 1 folder each for each Website and they have a folder with all the Install Files, which I create a Virtual Directory from and do the install. I have made sure the Database connection parameters are correct and it works when I check on the Installation.

Any help regarding this would be really appreciated as I have searched google to get an answer and haven't found anything so far.

Regards,

Shabbir

If you are installing multiple databases to the same server, you must not use the dynamic attachment method, you must create named databases.  I have tutorials available on my site http://www.mitchelsellers.com/blogs.aspx that walk through DotNetNuke Installation and Upgrade.

Hi Mitch, I looked into your documents, but couldn't find any which has multiple installs on the same IIS server. I did get the first one installed fine, but it's the 2nd instance which is giving me all the problems. When I run the install, it does all the install successfully and also creates all the tables and so on, on the server and checked a few tables and they have data in them as well. But when I try to go to the Portal after the install, I get an error saying "intenet explorer cannot display the page". And I cannot see the folder "0" under Portals, which I suppose is the one for the 1st portal, right? Regards, Shabbir
