Hello,

I have installed the v5.00.00 Starter Kit, launched VS2008 Pro and gone to File | New | Website... but the templates do not appear.

Checking my My Documents\Visual Studio 2008 folder hierachy does confirm that templates do exist e.g.

My Documents\Visual Studio 2008\Templates\ItemTemplates\Visual Web Developer\CSharp contains Module_CS.zip

My Documents\Visual Studio 2008\Templates\ProjectTemplates\Visual Web Developer\VisualBasic contains DotNetNuke.zip

(four files under ItemTemplates and three under ProjectTemplates in all)

Does anyone know why they don't appear under My Templates?

Thanks in advance,

Chris

When you select "New Website" .. make sure you then select "Visual Basic" as the programming language.  The Modules can be written in either vb or c#, but the web site itself is vb only, so if you have c# selected as the language, the web site template will not show up as an option

Thanks - that is it!

(I am a C# person myself but I knew DNN was developed in VB.NET - I don't know how I could have missed that)

Hi,

I am having the same problem but already changed the language to VB and still don't see the Dot Net nuke template.

I can see the Module template but not the Web Site template.

What exactly happened:

- I executed DotNetNuke_Community_04.09.03_StarterKit.vsi

- I didn't see the website template; but noticed that I have an RTM version of VS2008

- I updated VS 2008 to SP1

- I executed DotNetNuke_Community_04.09.03_StarterKit.vsi again

But same problem I can't see the Web Site template even if the language is VB

I have the following file under VS:

"...\Visual Studio 2008\Templates\ProjectTemplates\Visual Basic\Web\ Module_Compiled_VB.zip" same under c# folder and the file "DotNetNuke.zip" under visual web developer folder.

Can you please help ?

Thanks

Hi,

Is there a manual way to fix this?

Setting up the templates manually in VS 2008 ?

I am not sure what template files I should use.

Thanks
