After dealing with Godaddy hosting for a client, I can honestly recommend the best course of action is to find a new web host. WebHost4Life.com is my personal favorite but 3Essentials.com is also excellent for dnn hosting. Those two are the most affordable. Webhost4life has much simpler control panel with more funtionality than 3essentials. Godaddy is not set up for hosting dnn, no matter what they tell you or what they advertise. If you plan on any kind of ecommerce, there are certain payment processors that will not work and will not be supported at Godaddy, PayPal Payments is among them. Godaddy is also using outdated security protocols from before 2005 that will be the cause of most problems with dnn, and Godaddy at last check had every intention of not upgrading those security protocols which is a huge red light that should send you running from them and fast. It didn't take my client very long to close their account at Godaddy, and I do believe they were given a prorated refund of the hosting fees.
Godaddy is great for domain name registration, but their web hosting is over-priced, under-serviced by incompetent tech support, and the single worst web host for any web site, especially a dnn installation.
If you can't switch web hosts for some reason, check to make sure you can install dnn in the root directory with Godaddy's setup. Some hosts don't allow that and you have to install to a subdirectory and then have the domain point to the subdirectory as the website root. When I installed dnn 4.6.2 at Godaddy it was into a subdirectory and was successful, it just became a problem with various modules and the underlying outdated security protocols causing problems with various functionality in various areas of the site. With DNN and Godaddy you are guaranteed to have problems and have tech support there tell you there is nothing they can or will do about it. That's if they actually answer the question you ask, I often got answers that were not even remotely related to the question. We had half a dozen or so problems with their hosting, and the client finally decided to switch because it pretty much put a stop to their plans for their website upgrades. None of those barriers were present at 3essentials and everything we needed to do was supported and implemented without any of the same problems at all.
You could also go into the database directly and open the event log table and see if there is a more extended explanation/error logged.
