Hi!

Sorry, if I'm posting in the wrong section.

I tried to install DNN on my computer but when I tried to open DNN over IIS (like mentioned in the turorial) I get an HTTP-error 401.3.

It means that I am not authorised. Maybe you can look the error code up in the internet. I would post a screenshot of mine, but it's in german. :-)

Can anyone help me how to fix this?

Thanks!

Make sure the website/virtualDirectory is setup in IIS with Anonymous Access "Enabled"

Next make sure the file permissions are correct.

I use the following on my Vista Enterprise Install:

Administrators: Full Control
System: Full Control
Network Service: Full Control
Users: Read & Execute
Everyone: Read & Execute

Between these two you should be able to get the site going.

Thanks! Worked!

But now I get another error. Do you have any idea how to solve this one? :-)

Looks line either the connection strings in the web.config or the SQLServer specified in the web.config is not accessable.

I am going to assume that since this is an install that the SQL Server is not configured yet.

Try going directly to the Install Wizard by accesssing: http://URL-To-Your-DNN-Instance/Install/InstallWizard.aspx that should get your install going.
