touching means that the file date changed, this can be achieved by opening the file in notepad, typing a space somewhere and delete it again and saving the file

Thanks Eric however I am still stumped on where to change my alias. If I go to webdiced.com it will send it stright to webdiced.com/install.

I have the SQL management tools open. The site is on a remote server

Can you show where I need to add or change the table for the alias thanks

Just wanted to provide some update as I have the correct fix.

If you come across the problem where you install your DNN 5.01 and the webpage won't come up but goes straight to the http://mywebsite.com/install instead of going to http://mywebsite.com You need to arrange with your host to have SQL management tool access. Find the Portal_alias table right clieck on it and choose Open Table. You will then find reference to the http://mywebsite.com/install remove the /install. Then FTP to your server and "Touch"the Webconfig file I just open it and resave it. THis will force the application to restart and the portal will return to normal

Cheers
