Hi

FOr some reason my install has the alais of domainname.com/install. As this is hosted remotely I only have access to the SQL web tools how do I change the Alias to point to default.aspx? Or do web hosts let you use the SQL tools remotely ?

Cheers

Tim,

If you can get to the site, you should be able to change the PortalAlias table via the SQL page under Host.

I have exactly the same problem however I can get to the Database portal_alias table. Where inside the table is this changed?

Thanks

just change the alias in that table. Key is though that you need to restart the application after that. That can be done by either recycling the application pool, or by  "touching " web.config (when asp.net sees a change in web.config, it will restart the application)
