Hi,

finally have DNN 4.03 running, i am publishing with VSpro.

why is it that i make a little change (i hid the country/street etc on the register page), vspro publishes everything over to my web server (yes VS removes all previous files except any that were no published by it), then i get the following message:

Nothing To Install At This Time

Current Assembly Version: 04.00.03 Current Database Version: 04.00.03

----------------

yes, the DB was not removed, its the one from the inital installation which has been modified. i don't want to delete this DB and start over again. why can't DNN just run, i personally think the core app should not check for this versioning info and personally i would remove the 'install' portion of it, at spin it off as its own application.

as i am just testing currently, it doesn't bother me to delete the DB, but it is kind of a pain in the butt, as i have to keep creating a new DB becuase i'm using SQL Server 2005.

any help appreciated, thank you

i'd suggest you not use the vs.net publish option, it can cause issues e.g. it skips filetypes such as .resx that we utilise in DNN (typically I simply xcopy/ftp the updated dotnetnuke.dll file). You can also set a few values in your web.config to help when testing changes i.e.

    <add key="AutoUpgrade" value="false" />
    <add key="UseDnnConfig" value="true" />
