Hi,

I'm trying to install DNN 4.9.3. I've downloaded the Install version, I've decompressed the zip folder and I've created a new virtual directory on IIS.

I've red on some guides I have to rename relase.config file in web.config but both the files are present in my folder and they seem to be similar, so I've jumped this step. Now...all the guides stop here :(

I've browsed to "http://localhost/DotNetNuke/Install/install.aspx" and appear a page with the error: "This site is currently Unavailable".

What can I do???

Thanks

be aware, that you need MS SQL server (express) installed and configured to use (either impersonated or - preferable - by creating a blank database and an account to use with dbo permission granted. Besides you need to grant full file system permission on your install directory and subfolders to ASP.Net account ("Network Service" or, on WinXP: "ASPNET"). there are more detailed instructions @ mitchelsellers.com.

Thank for your reply!

I've followed that tutorial and now there is this error:

Error Installing DotNetNuke

Current Assembly Version: 04.09.03

ERROR: Could not connect to database specified in connectionString for SqlDataProvider

it looks like the sql server is not properly configured, did you enable TCP/IP protocol for client and server, remote access and mixed authentication, if not using ASP.Net account for database access?

I've just followed that tutorial step by step.

Where can I configure TCP/IP protocol, remote access and mixed authentication? Is the first time I use MS SQL.

About your question...I've created a database and an account and I put relative information in web.config.

Thanks!
