it is a problem for a site being installed to use the logging mechanism before it is ready. If you use manual installation option.  you might see some error message. sorry, I don't have another idea atm.

I'd be willing to try a "manual installation option". How do I do that?  Also, in the folder /providers/DataProviders/SqlDataProviders I see a whole slew of files containing SQL statements. Are ALL of them executed in order from 01.00.00 forward or for 5.0.1 is there some "base" from which to start building the database?

I've spent quite a bit of time trying to isolate which DB script is incompatible with SQL 2000, but I can find it.  I am really starting to believe that this is a BUG. Should I file a BUG REPORT on this issue?  How can we get this fixed?

There are issues confirmed with SQL 2000 fixed for 5.1.1 please check:

I just tried to upgrade from 4.9 to 5.01 and I got the same problem as mentionned in this post.  Is the problem really fix in the latest release 5.1.1?  Why don't they correct the installation script in 5.0.1?

Now in my case(after 5.0.1 installation)  I now received a bunch or errors when visiting some of the host and admin pages (modules definitions, Languages, Skin, event viewer) should I try, upgrate to 5.1.1 and hope that if would fixe all my problems?

Also for all of those out there that are trying to upgrade to DNN 5 and that are still using a SQL 2000 database should we mentionned somewhere that they should upgrade to 5.1.1 directly instead of passing by 5.0.1 (according that 5.1.1 is fix) ?

Thanks.
