Today I have had problem with on site, I dont know how many times I restored from backup before I get it on track.

It seems as the web config does not get updated correct. My last atempt was to take a web.config from a Install version DNN 5.1.0 and change my settings in there. Then it worked.

I have before on the same server updated 4.9.4 with success with the upgrade zip but this time I could not. I cant find the reason why but I asume there is some cases in the upgrade code that could go wrong. II got no errors (except the known one) on installation. I tryed to do a debug but to many errors due to old files left in the file structure.

But if you have the similar problem try to use the install zip web.config before you get white hair as I have now.....

Jan

ps. be sure you use your old machine key and other settings that are uniqe. ds.

Jan,

do you have ASP.Net 3.5 installed and did you enable it on DNN 4.9.4 already?

Are you on Windows Server 2008 (integrated)?

I have a feeling but can't confirm it that the reason could be that on that installation the old FTB was still in the config file and bin. FCK was however the editor in place.

I don't see a reason, how FTB3 could affect web.config updates and assume, there must be a different cause.
