I am waiting for a fix too. my instance 5.2.1(upgraded in January, 8 months ago) failed 3 times yesterday.  Restarting the application pool and reloading the web.config worked for me.

Has anyone found the cause of this? I am experiencing this behavior with a DNN 6.1.5 site hosted on 3essentials. They recycle the app pool, the site is back up for a while and then goes completely down again. This isn't my first 6.1.5 site hosted with them either and those others are fine (so far). I'm not sure what to ask them to look at.

Deleting the magically appearing virtual directory "desktopmodules" in IIS Manager helped for me, see
