HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a parent portal configured and running. I have just created a child portal that I want to be an exact replica of its parent portal. This will include using the same database on both parent and child portal and users could login to either portals.

My question: is this possible and if so, what is the most painless way of accomplishing this task?

Please be aware that Child portals have completely separated content, permissions and user base like multiple parent portals in the same DNN installation do, i.e. users can reregister for additional child portals using identical username, email address and password.

Don't use a child portal.  You want two portals that are exactly identical?  That's really best handled by using a single portal.  Why do you believe you need a child portal?

Does that mean they use seperate data bases also? or could they use the same.

Here's my delima I created a site that has two totaly seperate functions. Looking back I know I should have created two seperate sites. What I'm trying to do is mirror one site to the other and then remove the portion (modules) that reflect one of the sites. Then on the partent site remove the portion that refect the other site. Does this make since? If so, what is the best way to accomplish this.

Thanks

The best way to accomplish that is two separate DNN installations.  You can use a copy of the first database in setting up the second, but from there on they are entirely separate.
