I've just upgraded to DNN 5.1 (from 4.9)
using Framework 2.0
SQL Server 2000

In host settings it says - running 5.1, but still says 'updates available' ?

Other Problems:
* I can not see any modules in the drop down list (edit mode was selected)
* I can not upload new skins
* get the following error below:

Error: Skins is currently unavailable.
DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: E:\dnn2\Admin\Skins\EditSkins.ascx.vb(175): error BC30456: 'GetSkin' is not a member of 'DotNetNuke.UI.Skins.SkinController'. ---> System.Web.HttpCompileException: E:\dnn2\Admin\Skins\EditSkins.ascx.vb(175): error BC30456: 'GetSkin' is not a member of 'DotNetNuke.UI.Skins.SkinController'. at System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager.CompileWebFile(VirtualPath virtualPath) at System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager.GetVPathBuildResultInternal(VirtualPath virtualPath, Boolean noBuild, Boolean allowCrossApp, Boolean allowBuildInPrecompile) at System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager.GetVPathBuildResultWithNoAssert(HttpContext context, VirtualPath virtualPath, Boolean noBuild, Boolean allowCrossApp, Boolean allowBuildInPrecompile) at System.Web.UI.TemplateControl.LoadControl(VirtualPath virtualPath) at System.Web.UI.TemplateControl.LoadControl(String virtualPath) at DotNetNuke.UI.ControlUtilities.LoadControl[T](TemplateControl containerControl, String ControlSrc) at DotNetNuke.UI.Modules.ModuleHost.LoadModuleControl() --- End of inner exception stack trace ---

I had a problem with a skin not compatible with dnn 5, so removed this in the back end and replaced it with _default skin and copied portal.ascx from another skin (pasting it in its placing  and giving it same name as one in use).
This did replace my skin and fixed a previous skin error, but I still have the above errors.

I'm thinking my installation didn't work 100% and perhaps i should try again?

If re-installing is the best solution - how is this done please?
Is there a guide anywhere for reverting back to 4.9?

thanks,
mark

didn't realise 5.1.1 was just released (on 28 july 09)
Maybe i should upgrade to this to fix the above issues?

Worth a go. There were issues with 5.1.0 /SQL Server 2000. You should have seen this when you installed or upgraded with 5.1.0.
You might find it better to roll back to 4.9 before doing the upgrade again.
Make sure you back up.

for rollback -

I made a back up copy of 4.9 - do I just unzip this and copy and replace the existing files and then run the install.aspx file again?

thanks,
mark
