If your "remote host" is a hosting provider there is a chance that the provider also features 1-click DNN installation.  I've done a good number of remote-hosted sites using 1-click as well as using manual methods.  For certain providers I now nearly always go the 1-click route.  Here's info on using 1-click from a couple of shared-hosting providers:

 Hi,

To install DNN, that's not difficult!

You can download the DNN zip file from Dotnetnuke.com and unzip it into your web hosting server.

Your web hosting needs to support ASP.NET & Mssql DBs.

And you need to create a new Mssql Database when install the DNN.

Please check whether the folder permissions are enough. The write permission should be granted when install the new DNN site.

In the end, recommend Webhost4life as DNN service provider!

Good luck!
