Is it true that the current and all future versions of DNN cannot run on a Windows XP machine? I planned on developing a portal using DNN 5.1.2 using my Windows XP desktop with ASP.NET 3.5 and SQL Server 2008 and Visual Studio 2008 and IIS 5.1 . When I downloaded the DotNetNuke Installation Guide the system requirements stated that IIS 6.0 or newer was required. I come to find that IIS 6.0 cannot be installed on Windows XP, since a minimum of Windows Server 2003 is needed for IIS 6.0 . Being that DNN 5.1.2 requires IIS 6.0 which cannot be installed on my Windows XP desktop, it follows that it is not possible to use current and ongoing versions of DNN on an XP machine any longer. Is this a true statement? If not, where is my logic off, and how can I accomplish this?

AFAIK there is no problem running DNN 5 on WinXP. It might not been listed due to not being a recommended hosting environment.

If you use WinXP, I strongly suggest to use www.jetstat.com/iisadmin, it is very handy when working with multiple local installs.

What happened when you tried installing DNN 5.2(4) on XP?

I also upgraded from 4.9.3 to 5.1.4 on XP, IIS5.1, etc.  In FireFox, FireBug is showing these errors:

dnn_control is not defined
/DNN_490_Test/js/dnn.controls.dnnlabeledit.jsLine 15
dnn.controls.DNNToolBar is not a constructor
/DNN_490_Test/js/dnn.controls.dnnlabeledit.jsLine 15

All I have to do is put Text/HTML on a page and move the mouse around over the module settings menu.  Has anybody seen anything like this?
