Hello,

i have migrated DNN 5.1 from server to another ..

it works fine on server1 but when i try to open it from server 2, the installation wizard appears ..

please note that i'm doing the migration with no host header in the IIS, i wanna access the website through IP address, also i kept the record in Portal_Alias table empty.

when i try to acces the portal via IP address, the wizard appears.

kindly advice.

thx in advance.

if you move to a different IP address, you need to add a record in portal alias table with new IP address, either via UI prior to mving the site or by entering the record directly into the database.

thx for ur reply Sebastian,

i have modified the portal Alias into the new IP address now ..but the wierd thing is that when i type localhost on my server or the IP on my local machine, the site is accessed, but the installation wizard appears.

and when i continue the wizard, a new empty installation occures.

the thing is that i used to migrate my websites with a live domain, and it works, but accessing the website via only the IP address, this i have never done.

is ithe problem related to that the website is the default website and accessed through the IP address of the server ?
