I am pretty new to DNN and have a question about how best to retrieve data from a website.  I recently took down a site that was built in DNN and replaced it with a brand new website built on a different CMS.  Before I took the site down, I backed it up (copied the website folder onto my personal computer).  I now need to retrieve some information that is stored in the website (specifically, data that was gathered via an online form).  Any suggestions on how to retrieve this data?  My main thought is to temporarily re-install the site online, and back up the data like I normally would do from the website.  However, I have only installed other CMSs that are easier (Wordpress, Joomla), so I'm on quite sure where to start with getting the site back online (I took over on the project, as it was built by someone else).  I'd really appreciate any advice you may have.

Thanks!

Did you backup the database? The data is likely stored in there, you can query the tables where the data is stored and retrieve the information from them.

I did back up the entire website folder from ftp.  I'm not very savvy with SQL - could you give some tips on how to locate where my data would be in these folders and how to query the tables?

Thanks for your help.

Unfortunately I have no idea what module you were using to collect data so I couldn't begin to fathom which tables you would need to access to get the information.

newbee, how does the database in your web.config look like, does it include "database=..." or "database.mdf"?
