This is for a fresh install :

Steps:

 http://<site.com/install/installwizard.aspx

Setup wizard begins....

Select either

     () Custom or () Typical option,

Click next

Receive script error:

do you have asp.Net 3.5 installed?

Yes, I verified 3.5 is installed.

 

I have since resolved this - i believe the web.config created during the 5.2.2 install package was not correct.

 

To resolve this, I copied release.config over web.config.   Installation now works

glad to hear you got it resolved - however, there is no web.config file created for the install package. I suspect you downloaded an upgrade package - these do not have web.config files as they're designed to be copied over existing websites. Alternatively you might have downloaded the source package - it similarly has not web.config and also must be compiled first before attempting an install/upgrade

I must be very lucky then - because DotNetNuke_Community_05.02.02_install.zip i just downloaded does contain a web.config file.  Its timestamp if 12/18/2009 12:21PM within the archived.

 

Is this not supposed to be in the install package?
