I've set up a Win2003 SP1 server, DNN 5.2.02, SQL2005 Express, ASP.NET 2.5, ISS 6 and so on,

everything should be fine but if I try the Default.aspx I get a 404 Page not found...!!!

The IIS is running and if I try a dummy index.htm I get it up.

How to debug/be sure the ASP.NET is up correctly?

Does the web.config impact on the ASP.NET or at least I should see some errors due to wrong SQL settings?

How can I test/check this issue?

Any hint is welcome.

Edo

Read the requirements for DNN 5.2.2, make sure .NET 3.5 with SP1 is installed.  Make sure you have assigned the correct permissions to the files/folders.  Check your web site and ASP.NET setup with a Hello World page.

Did you chek if  'ASP.Net' extension is allowed to be run on your IIS Server ?

BINGO! It was not Allowed. So simple and so obvious that I assumed it should be   !!

OK, now at least I get an error from web.config. Will start digging from here. Thanks a lot Stéphane

I think that correct "attribute name" is 'key' instead of 'name'.

In appSettings section, the correct syntax would be <add key="SiteSqlServer"...
