 I copied the upgrade package over an existing installation and received the following:

Compilation Error
Description: An error occurred during the compilation of a resource required to service this request. Please review the following specific error details and modify your source code appropriately.

Compiler Error Message: BC30516: Overload resolution failed because no accessible 'SynchronizeFolder' accepts this number of arguments.

Source Error:

Line 554: Private Sub SyncFilesSystem()
Line 555:
Line 556: FileSystemUtils.SynchronizeFolder(Me.IWebCredentials.PortalID, _
Line 557: GetSettings.HomeDirectoryMapPath, String.Empty, True)
Line 558: End Sub

Source File: d:\hosting\mrogerson\DNN2\App_Code\IWeb\IWebMethods\IWebFileManager.vb Line: 556

It happens regardless of which file you run (e.g., Default.aspx or Install/Install.aspx) and it doesn't matter that the app_offline.htm file is there.

The upgrade to 5.3.1 went flawlessly.  I don't know what would've caused the problem before as i didn't have the XML module installed, but c'est la vie!
