hi all, dnn newbie here.  trying to set up a new installation.

-sql server 2005
-windows server 2003/iis 6

I went through all the setup steps in the readme file found in the documentation folder.  Then when I start the installation, I get this message

The Auto option has been disabled as the DotNetNuke Application cannot connect to a valid SQL Server database. You can continue to use either of the other two Wizard options and configure the Database settings at the appropriate Wizard step.

However, after I click "next" a couple more times and it confirms that my site passed the permission check, I get to a blank screen (see screen shot)

Please advise.  And thanks!

re-unzip all files again and clear the database. make sure, local "network service" has been grated full file system permissions.

I extracted the installation files again and recreated the database. I gave "full control" to NETWORK SERVICE on the DotNetNuke folder. Still experiencing the same issue. I even tried re-downloading the installation files.

Does the SQL login need to be a domain user?  I've just been using a SQL account.

Are you using .Net 3.5. SP1 or greater?
Are you running Classic or DefaultAppPool for your Application Pool?
Having done thousands of installs this is not something i have ever seen
