I'm doing a virgin install - my firts ever.  I've followed all of the instructions. When I browse to localhost/dotnetnuke I get a windows prompt for a undername and pasword.

What's with this?  I thought it was supposed to run the scripts and give me a portal.  I don't know what to do.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

you probably forgot to set the correct rights for the asp.net worker process (ASPNET on win xp pro), if you also enabled windows authentication IIS then you will be prompted for a username / password. Please also check wether default.aspx is in your default documents list in IIS

cheers,

Erik
