Hi all,
Can we install a dotnetnuke app into a subfolder of another dotnetnuke. These 2 are seperated, no connction between them, and we can set virtual directory on the subfolder(a subdomain).

I we can how do we config the web.config for both of them to run correctly.

Thanks

If you need more then one Website it is not need to install allways a own instance.  You can create a childportal or a partent (which then also be can used as a subportal) in the Host - Portals.  Each new created Portal have its own Administration, Layout, Logins, Usermanagement and works as own website.  This reduced your work and saved money.

But it is also possible to create a physical subfolder on your root path and install a new instance of DNN on a virtual directory.  Each new instance needs it own web.config file and database.

Thank you for your reply. It is so great to hear that it is possible. Do we need to add more configing line for each web.config file? I did adding new physical subfolder, make it a virtual directory (application folder). The root application ran smoothly, but the subfolder one always retrun error: " 500 - Internal server error. There is a problem with the resource you are looking for, and it cannot be displayed. " The subfolder app is just a duplicate of the root path (even database) - just wanna make it a test app. Do we really need any other settings here? Thanks.

The subfolder is a own root folder for the virtual directory.  It is as you run it as a seperate domain.  So you have all settings to do as for a normal new install.  Also it needs it own database!  The instance on the virtual directory is also only accessable over the virual directory, you could not upen it over the first DNN instance.  It is a complete own Portal.
