Matti;
Since 050.2.00 DNN has required ASP.NET 3.5 SP1 be running on the server. We started offering ASP.NET v4.0 support in the 05.04.00 timeframe but we do not require it to be installed.
I still believe this is a misconfiguration issue with the hosted setup.

Ken, in terms of your previous request, ("Please re-check the permissions into your Production SQL server. Your IIS account from the web site and your account on the web folders both need read/write/modify rights against the database") my hoster informed that they "...have checked the permissions for on SQL server and for the IIS account against the database and they are perfect".

So, this aspect should be now ok!

What are other possible misconfigurations with the hosted setup you have possibly in your mind? - Is one of them the fact that there is ASP.NET v2.x
in my production server running with my DNN 5.6.0. installation. - Will this neseccarily lead to some issue, possibly to this one I am having?

Matti, I am quite sure, that there is an issue with the generated SQL script, please move database (detach/attach) or backup and restore it instead creating a script.

Sebastian, I will try this today - thank you for finding time to consider my issue!

Sebastian, yes indeed, you are right  - the issue I have was to due to deploying the DNN-database via SSMSE generated script (i.e. via *sql-file). Once I had taken a backup of the db and restored it to my hoster's sql-server 2008, then the issue with my dnn 06.05.00 installation in production server disappeared!

Why I did not backup and restore the db earlier was actually due to the fact that I could not restore or attach my local Sql-Server 2008 R2 Express database to my hoster's Sql-Server 2008 enterprise edition database. R2 simply does not make backward compatibility via backup or via detach/attach. So I had to install older version of sql server to be able to create suitable backup.

But it is now important to know that complex databases should not be tried to deploy via generated sql-script.

In my opinion, this is worth mentioning specifically somewhere in the forum concerning deployment on production server

Well, Sebastian, I am very grateful for your help and your know-how - I could not succeed without it!
Also, thanks to Ken for his time and replies,

Regards,

Matti
