I have been going through the video tutorial as I have the following configuration:

Windows 7 Ultimate Edittion
SQL Server 2008
IIS 7.5

Currently I have my DotNetNuke Files under C:\inetpub\wwwroot and I have set IIS AppPool\Default\AppPool to Full permissions on my website directory as well as NETWORK SERVICE.

For the SQL Server Database I have created a blank database and created a login user name with db_owner permissions set.  As well under security I have added NETWORK SERVICE with db_owner permissions as well.

Whenever I get to the Database section on the DotNetNuke installation, I always get a blank page with a next and previous butfon.  I tried to provide a screenshot as I am using Firefox but to no avail.  Has anyone been through this issue?  Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Sam

do you specify your user account for sql connection instead of Express connection type? did you enable TCP/IP for sql server and client?

Hi Sebastian,

Thank you for the reply.

At first I did not change the web.config as I assumed that on the Database configuration section of the installation, it would ask what connection type I am using and then enter the credentials.  But it did not show that, only a logo of DotNetNuke and then the previous and next buttons.

Even  when I modified the web.config to include the connection string, I still get the same result.  Below is an example of my connection string on the web.config:  The username and password are

<add name="SiteSqlServer" connectionString="Server=(local);Database=DotNetNuke;uid=;pwd=;" providerName="System.Data.SqlClient" />

Am I missing something to add in the permissions on my folders, on IIS 7.5, or SQL Server 2008 Security section?
Is the connection string that I provided incorrect?

Thanks for the help.

please be aware, that in IIS 7.5 (Windosws 7 / Server 2008 R2), ASP.Net does use a different windows account by default, please read here: http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/Blogs/tabid/825/EntryId/2420/Windows-7-Windows-2008-R2-cross-application-pool-isolation.aspx
